Walter Holmes
As a native of Northumbria, Walter Holmes has a wide knowledge of Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East of England. He also works in the Cotswolds, Hampshire and Yorkshire where he has exhibited and sold successfully through galleries.
Over the years Walter has undertaken many special commissions for clients from private and public sectors. These commissions are commonly requested for important presentations, to create a series for a calendar or simply to decorate premises or homes.
Common to all his pictures is his pleasure in depicting light and his painterly use of all media. So while most of his work is representational, he sees the picture-making process as arranging a set of coloured shapes into a satisfactory abstract composition.
His vibrant, exciting work is filled with his understanding of the local landscape and events. Some of the landscape paintings reproduced by The Frame House are shown here.
